We’re happy to help with your horse’s insurance claim. We will submit the required medical history and invoices to the insurance company on your behalf, and payment will be made directly to our practice (or if directed, to you).

We will need information from you, including your insurance company and policy number, and your horse’s breed and date of birth. We may also need either a link or claim form from your insurer. Some insurance companies have a time limit on how many days after treatment you can claim, so the sooner we receive your link or form, the better.

Your insurance may not cover the full amount that is claimed.

  • They may charge you an excess on each condition claimed for every policy year.
  • They may charge you an excess based on a percentage of the claim.
  • They may charge you a co-payment for the amount you claim.
  • They may make deductions for treatment or medication not covered on the policy.
  • They may decline your claim altogether.

Full details will be in your insurer’s policy wording document. As the policy holder, you are responsible for any charges or amounts not paid by your insurance company.

If any claim or policy-related disputes arise, these are exclusively between you and your insurer and not with MBG Vets. We are happy to provide a direct claim handling service, but this will be withdrawn if money is owed on your account with us.
