MBG has been established for over 60 years and is proud to be one of the few independent, vet-owned practices still operating in Worcestershire. We’ve a long history in providing the best in veterinary care; aiming to offer fairly-priced services without unnecessary upselling and corporate sales targets.

With four purpose-built premises, we offer a committed team of vets and nurses alongside the latest innovations in veterinary medicine. We have a number of visiting consultants and vets with advanced certificates, reducing the need for expensive external referrals. We welcome all species of animal; from horses and cows to cats, dogs and exotics.

We add value with text and email reminders, monthly health plans, online ordering, an in-house laboratory, free telephone advice, flexible booking across our branches, weekend appointments, and legendary puppy socialisation parties!

Our mission statement

To provide veterinary care of the highest quality, delivered with compassion & consideration in a relaxed & friendly environment.

Our history

The practice was first established in 1954 to serve the hundreds of small farms around the Droitwich and Worcester area. With agriculture relying less on the carthorse and domestic pets becoming ever more popular, we have since developed into a thriving mixed practice.

Remaining independent and vet-owned throughout, we encourage our vets to develop their own areas of interest, allowing us to offer more specialised in-house services and procedures. We are proud to offer physiotherapy, dentistry, orthopedic operations, keyhole surgery, ophthalmology, exotics and cardiology alongside traditional routine veterinary services.

Originally based on Corbett Avenue in Droitwich, we opened our second branch in Worcester in 1989. This was followed in 2004 by the opening of our purpose-built surgery on Hanbury Road in Droitwich. We later opened a third branch at Webbs Garden Centre, and in 2018 we expanded our Wychbold site to include a pet grooming service. February 2020 saw our Farm & Equine department move to a new premises in Droitwich, allowing us to expand our laboratory and consulting facilities at Hanbury Road.

The Farm and Equine team work mainly as ambulatory veterinary surgeons, with portable ultrasonography, radiography and endoscopy equipment allowing detailed investigations to be performed at home. Preventative health programmes are available – we have the first two Strangles accredited livery yards in England having taken the lead following an extended outbreak of the disease.

Our farm vets each have particular interests in different sectors such as dairy, beef or sheep. We also provide care to alpacas, goats, pigs and chickens. We have led projects such as BVD Awareness and Stamp Out Scab, and in recent years we have worked in conjunction with EBLEX to increase awareness of important diseases.
