Equine Endoscopy
A flexible fibro-optic endoscope can be used to examine the airways of horses and ponies suffering respiratory conditions.
Some horses require mild sedation, but all are done in a standing position at home. Samples of discharges can be collected and analysed in order to target treatment effectively.
The endoscope is also used to examine the bladder (cystoscopy) when urinary problems occur. It is possible to view urine entering the bladder from the kidney and following it out through the urethra.
