About us – Farm

MBG is an independently owned mixed practice providing veterinary services to ‘all creatures great and small’. Established in 1954, we are proud to have a long history of providing the best in veterinary care; aiming to provide fairly priced services without unnecessary corporate upselling and sales targets.

With four purpose built premises, we offer a committed team of vets and nurses who together have over 200 years’ collective experience. Our small animal surgeons each have their own areas of interest – such as exotics and orthopaedic surgery – in addition to our referral ophthalmology, physiotherapy and behavioural services. Our puppy parties are legendary and take over the Practice on a Wednesday evening.

The large animal team, working as ambulatory veterinary surgeons, concentrate on farm and equine work. We have farm vets with particular interests in different sectors such as dairy, beef or sheep. We also provide veterinary care to alpacas, goats, pigs and chickens. Farm vets regularly attend training and discussion groups to ensure the most up to date knowledge is available to our clients. We have led projects such as BVD awareness and Stamp Out Scab, and have worked in conjunction with EBLEX to increase awareness of important diseases. Regular farmer meetings over the winter months provide not only a hot supper but detailed information on various new products, parasite control and infectious diseases.
