It is an undeniable fact that veterinary care costs money, and when a pet requires complex surgery this represents a major commitment on the part of the owner.

While insurance may cover the expense, increasingly we are seeing animals without insurance, policy spend limits have been exceeded, or where exclusions have been placed on policies.  For this reason we have decided to introduce a fixed price scheme for some of the more commonly performed procedures.  We hope that this may remove some of the uncertainty for an owner, and reduce anxiety at what is always a worrying time.

As an example, the three most commonly performed orthopedic procedures within the practice, and their fixed prices, are as follows:-

Cruciate ligament repair by closing wedge osteotomy £2300 (under 20kg)
   £2500 (20-40kg)
   £2800 (over 40kg)
Patella luxation repair £1200
Femoral head and neck excision £1000

While we can’t foresee every eventuality, there have to be some rules in order for us to be able to offer this service.  The dreaded “Ts and Cs” are available by request from Steve Odell.

All in all, we hope to be able to provide accessible care for major procedures, at reasonable cost, giving you peace of mind as a pet owner.
